Mitsubishi Repair: H3 fog light, h3 bulbs, factory fog

Question
I have a 92 eagle talon 2.0L turbo FWD,its the same thing as a eclispe, my problem is that I want to replace the fog lights with a new H3 65W bulbs, but my factory fog lights have a plug in type wire harness and my H3 bulbs look different it has 1 long wire flat terminal with a hole in it.It doesn't match the wire harness. Do you have to cut or customize anything?

Answer
Sean,
I've run into this same problem with my Eclipse.  The factory connector for your foglights has a bullet-shaped terminal.  Most fog lights sold now are that flat terminal you described.  What I've done in the past is this:
1. Take out the old, burned out factory foglight that has the bullet-shaped terminal.
2. Cut off the bullet terminal.
3. On the flat terminal light, I cut the wire off from the flat terminal and strip away some of the insulation on the new foglight wire to expose some bare wire.
4. Put the bare wire in the old bullet terminal.  You can usually just pinch the wire in there, or if you can, solder the wire to the terminal.

That should be about it.  I believe the factory foglight bulbs are rated around 35W-45W, so a 65W bulb will draw a lot more current.
Good luck!
