Mitsubishi Repair: Low Beam Headlights not work, beam headlights, high beams

Question
2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS
I recently had a plug to one of my headlights go bad. I thought it was the bulb but after changing that realized that it was the plug that the bulb goes into. I changed that and also put new bulbs in both sides. Now about a month has passed and neither of the headlights work. If I turn the highbeam on that works but the low beam doesn't. I have checked the fuses and just can't figure out what is going on. On this model in order to use the fog lights you must have the lowbeam headlights on (the foglights won't stay on with high beams) and won't work at all without the headlights on. When I turn the headlights on I can then turn on my foglights and they do work so I know it's not the switch on the consol or at least I don't think it could be b/c I think that would cause the fog lights no to come on if the switch on the consol wasn't registering. Can you please help me?

Answer
Layla,
I would guess the relay that goes to your low-beam lights needs to be replaced.  Your high-beams are on a seperate relay circuit, so I'm not surprised they still work.  And your fog lights are on a seperate relay as well.  Relays are relatively inexpensive and easy to replace.  Any local mechanic should be able to replace this for you.  Even your local auto parts stores may help you locate your low-beam relay for free.
Good luck!
