Motorcycle Repair: Kawasaki H2 alternator wiring

Question
Hi Ian

I realise you only deal with GT750s (I am the proud owner of a K model) but my problem, on the face of it, is a simple one which probably could occur on any bike and i would very much value your advice.
I have a Kawasaki H2 750 where the alternator has (amongst other wires) two yellow wires running from the alternator to the combined REgulator/rectifier. The alternator would normally have a plug to connect to the regulator wires but all i have is two loose wires from the alternator and two yellow wires from the regulator (but they have a plug).  Does it matter which yellow wire i connect to the two yellow wires that come from the reglulator? Or do i have to try to establish which wires goes with its corresponding regulator wire.

Many thanks in advance.

Tony

Answer
Tony - on the Suzuki GT750, any of the yellow wires from the alternator can be connected to any rectifier yellow wire connection. There is no polarity to worry about, as it is AC, being converted to DC by the rectifier. Kawasaki is outside of my scope, but looking at the H2 wiring diagram I would have said the same thing applies. For a more definitive answer, you might consider posing the same question on the Kaw2Strokes.com forum.
