Question
what is the difference between the cb 400 and the cm 400? i have a cb 400 t that needs a crank and i found a cm 400 t crank on ebay. will the cm crank work in the cb?

Answer
Hi T J,

The CB400T is a standard style bike while the CM400T is a cruiser style.

The engines should be the same as long as you don't buy a
CB400F crankshaft which is four cylinders.

Honda 13300-413-784 CRANKSHAFT --- Honda Code 1282268
is used on all the CM400T, CB400T, CB450 and CM450 engines.
Also some other designations like the A, C, E, SC models.

The crank should work but you will have to check the main and rod bearing clearances.
