Motorcycle Repair: follow up on your recommendations, filament bulb, honda trail

Question
Hi, Wayne,
Thank you very much for getting back to me about the wiring on my C100s.   I will follow your advice about wiring up the brake switch.

Also, I discovered a guy in our city who also has a C100.  I am going to his house tomorrow to look at his motorbike's wiring.  I will let you know what I find out.

Also, I do have the wiring diagram in my Honda repair and service 7 manual, but it doesn't show a brake switch. Maybe earlier models didn't have one.  Also, mine seems to be a bit of a hybrid--the engine is a C100 and the frame is a 105T--maybe that is a factor, to.

Thank you so much again.  I really appreciate your help.  I will be in touch.
Best wishes, Al

Answer
Hi Al,

It sounds like you have the C105T which is a Honda Trail 55cc.
Some of the early ones had the 49cc engine as they were
clearing out the stock of push rod engines they had.
They may have had a larger cylinder bore up to 54cc.

Being the trail model explains why you have no brake light.
Your tailights bulb has to have two filaments, one for tail
light and one for the brake light in order to function.
the original had only a single filament bulb.

Let me know how it goes, good luck.
