Motorcycle Repair: 95 Virago 1100, virago 1100, faulty side

Question
Hi thanks for reading my Question. Simply put, it starts fine, shift into 1st and it dies, not stalls but feels like something electrical. Changed out the neutral switch but doesn't help.
I'm a fairly good mechanic, but don't really understand what to check or test. Please help!!!!!

Answer
Hi Jerry,
The only things I can think of are a faulty side stand switch
or clutch plates that are stuck together.
A weak spark might cause stalling under load.
Some Viragos had problems with cold solder joints in the
Ignition modules, this will cause odd problems.
I would try some good electronic cleaner on all the connectors
And use a strong battery with tight terminals.
This may help keep the current up at the module.
They can turn off with weak power supply.
