Motorcycle Repair: Honda CA78, honda dream, restoration guides

Question
Hi, I just bought a 1964 Honda Dream CA78 and got it running again. I have not yet figured out what the red light in the headlight  does or is for. Any chance someone can shed a light on that for me?

Thank you in advance.

Bjorn

Answer
Bjorn, the red light is to indicate when the transmission is in neutral. If it stays ON all the time, then there is a grounded wire between the light socket and the transmission switch, which is under the right side kickstarter cover.

I have restoration guides on CD that covers everything you ever want to know about a Honda Dream.

See details on my website.  Congratulations on your new old bike!
