Motorcycle Repair: Pilot jets, dynojet stage 1, kawasaki vn800

Question
I have purchased for my Yr 2000 Kawasaki VN800 Classic an aftermarket spike air filter from Ebay Canada ( Neverland.ca).As usual I did not read the fact that it had no instructions.I have already Dynojetted to stage 1 and decided to look at the jet supplied to see if I actually needed to replace my Dynojet stage 1 for the one supplied. The pilot jet supplied has no visible size markings. How do I know what size it is? Can it be measured somehow?
Regards Doug

Answer
Hi Doug,

The easiest way to check jet sizes is with a mini drill set from a hobby shop
or buy a set online somewhere. You can just carefully try the tiny
smooth end of the bit inside the jets and see which one fits each.

The drill size chart at the link below may help with drill vs jet sizes.

Also the conversion between keihin and dynojet may help:

Each jet size has a corresponding drill size so the mini drill bits are handy for
sizing things up when there are no markings.

Ideally you want to check the spark plug color to ensure the engine
is running at the best temperature.

Mini or micro drill bits are sometimes referred to as "jewellery" drill bits, very tiny bits.
