QUESTION: after reading my manual, the procedure for the adjustment of the clutch, it read like it was telling you to do the same thing twice. I followed it to the letter and it made a difference.it said to turn adj screw down until snug then 2 more turns and lock dn. then adj out all free play. and go back to adj screw and back off 1 quarter turn. this procedure is diff. than my evo clutch adj' thanks for your time mike have a blessed day.

Answer
Your getting it to tight. Loosen the cable so there is play in it. Loosen the locknut and make sure the cable is pushed all the way back towards the primary. Adjust the screw just until it touches and then outward about 1/8 of a turn. Then adjust the cable so you have about 1/8 inch play in the clutch lever.
