Motorcycle Repair: electrical system, electrical system, battery charger

Question
I turn the ignition on and the relay clicks but the engine won't turn over. I attach the battery charger and let it charge for awhile and again the same , the relay clicks but the engine won't turn over. My charger has a starter mode where a strong surge goes through the battery, in this mode the engine will turn over and fire. The headlight will not even come on, I'm thinking the battery is dead and won't re-charge. Could it be anything else?

You can have to battery tested to see if its any good. If its bad then replace it and start the bike. Once you have the bike running you should show around 13.5 volts at 2000 RPM at the battery. It you dont then you have a charging problem
