QUESTION: I'm on a rebuild mission after learning the hard way that new tires are extremely slick for the first 50 miles...already I've repaired the severed ignition wires, coil, plugs, plug wires, and ignition module..only after the modual did I get spark.  I have one wire left to connect, the vacuum wire.

#1,Where can I find the vacuum line to attach to??
#2, What color is it??
#3what is the timing on a 2002 Sporty 1200 Custom??

I am doing a ton of customization too and added a hypercharger.  Either I lost the connector or they didn't send it but I have a vacuum hose that's loose and I know this will effect the performance.  Should I go find a 3 way plug & get it in there or just say screw the flaps??

This has been a three week nightmare for me...& I'm about to snap...thanks for any help, I can't afford $95 / hour that my local HD dealer charges...

ANSWER: the vacuum line is located on the carb as well as the petcock. You can add a t to either one. The vacuum line is black. Timing is 35 degrees BTDC

QUESTION: Thanks for the info.  Now I decided to go with a single fire ignition this time around and i have 2 wires I can't figure out if I need or not.

#1, the vacuum is a wire not a hose.  I've been told if i do not set up the module for "race mode" I don't need the vacuum line.

Now once I do find the 35 degrees BTDC  what do the 3 dials get set at?  Rpm limiter, spark advance & race or oem switch...this product is a Mid-Usa MU17570 If you check it out, don't tell me what's wrong..tell me how to make it perfect to start

Answer
Your setting the timing while the bike is running, so you need a timing light. The mark on the flywheel is TDC. If you set the modual to race mode you dont need to connect up the vacuumn operated switch. If you set it to OEM then you need to connect it up. I would set it to OEM setting. The REV limiter can be set where you want it, but I would go over 5800 RPM
