Motorcycle Repair: XT250 suspension, kawasaki klr, wiggle room

Question
Looking at '06 to '09 Yamaha XT250. The max. load 353lb which given 5% as "wiggle" room gets near 370. Primarily use is two up, short ride with little to no luggage and solo riding. Thinking I'd like to see maximum load a solid 400lb limit (as rated for the TW200). What might be the easiest, most economical mods I can do at home, as a "wrencher" of modest to "o.k." ability to up the capacity. I've done plenty of routine maintenance on small bikes. Thanks a million.

Answer
Roland,The max weight limit put on these units is also for safety ans well as carrying weight. As you approach the upper limit stability can go away as well as braking ability. So modifying the suspension may not just be the only thing involved here. You may even look at a Kawasaki KLR unit thats bigger but sits low to accomodate the load you are wanting to achieve.
