Motorcycle Repair: front brake lever on 2005 dyna, hi mike, brake lever

hi mike. a question about the front brake lever on a 2005 dyna super glide. i noticed that the brake light would stay on after using the front brakes. when i move the lever forward ,the light would turn off. what would correct this problem. there seems to be some play in the lever. how would i go about to correct this problem. thank you.

If you look at the brake assembly you will see that its two parts that are clamped to the handlebar. Both these pieces are pushed together. If they are not tight together the light will not shut off since the switch is inside the one. If that does not solve the problem then check the switch and make sure its coming out all the way.
