Motorcycle Repair: Ktm 65, fuel mix, circlip

Question
My son was riding the bike in second gear and over revved it he didn't shift and when he stopped i couldn't kick it it is locked up what do i need to do.

Answer
Joey,I have some experience with these as one of my sponsored riders started out on one. Because of the over revving it may have leaned out the fuel mix so the top end will need to come off. If the piston is stuck in the cylinder with the head removed you may be able to see the edge of the piston burnt. If the crankshaft will turn and allow the cylinder to seperate from the case a little.Place a small piece of wood on each side of the cylinder and take a wooden hammer handle and try to tap the piston down out of the cylinder. Once its clear then you can access the piston circlip and remove it getting the piston off the connecting rod. Now you should be able to have the cylinder repaired and a new piston ordered.
