Motorcycle Repair: CL72-CL77 oil pump interchange, mounting bolt, yr model

Question
Bill I have a CL72 that has a cracked oil pump base . I was wondering if the 305 oil pump is interchangeable with the 250. I have  a 305 pump I bought on ebay. On the outside they sure look the same. My scrambler is listed as a 1966 yr. model, frame # CL72110XXXX the Engine # CL72E110XXXX is only apart by five numbers. So even though this little bike has really been abused its still a very saveable machine. Now that I am mostly retired the time to tackle this fun project is now. Reading some of the other questions I decided to checked the oil filter and its missing the rotor washer! We learn something evey day don't we ? Thank You for listening Bob. 1/25/12.

Answer
Bob, The wet-sump pumps are all the same, except that the CL pumps have the extra boss underneath for the engine mounting bolt to pass through.

I actually found a near perfect CL pump in my spare parts bins, if you need one ready to go.
