Motorcycle Repair: coolant leak, coolant leak, interference fit

Question
i have a 03 750 shandow ace and the tube between the cylinders are leaking coolant ..what is all involved in repairing? like soes the motor and cylinders need to be removed or just sliding the clips to move tube from one side to the other to replace the o-rings..

Answer
Ken, I'll try to answer this and do it from memory. There should be two metal tubes going down into the cylinders and should have a small tab with a bolt in it to hold it steady. These tubes should have o-rings to seal them in the cylinder castings. The system will need to be drained the pull the clamps off the tubes then try to get the tubes out of the engine. Some of the models had o-rings and some had a press in interference fit and had to be tapped in with a sealant around the tubes. These were the California and Canadian models. When you go back with the coolant try the newer type called "Engine Ice" its a little more pricey but the engine runs about 50 degrees cooler and helps lubricate the seals in the pump.
