Motorcycle Repair: need some help, wheel spacers, sealed bearings

Question
I know that you deal in just harley's, but I am building a custom and it is my first. It is a 89-99 softail frame that has been stretched 2 in. in the down tubes and 4 in. in the backbone a 21 in front wheel and a 18x8.5 rear wheel. When it comes to wheel spacing and bearings I am having a issue. First off, internal wheel spacers. Do I need them and if so what do i use? Second, I am wanting to use sealed bearings. The wheels I have are billet custom wheels and I have bearing for the back, but I cannot find bearings for the front. The hole is roughly 45mm O.D. what bearings should i be looking for?

Answer
You have to have some type of spacing on the bearing or when you tighten the axle you will put to much side pressure on the bearing and it will fail. On what bearing to use, you need to check with the manufacture of the wheel. That wheel might not be set up for sealed bearings. Same thing with the rear. You need to know the space between the bearings so you know what spacer to use. I would contact the manufacture and they should be able to help
Good luck and happy riding
