Motorcycle Repair: 1987 Honda Cr125 wont start, honda cr125r, honda cr125

Question
Hey!
I have a 1987 Honda cr125r dirt bike. I just picked it up today and am working on getting it running. The topend was "said" to be rebuilt. Anyways i checked the spark plug and i do have spark. The compression seems good, but after kicking the darn thing for 10-15 mins the plug is still dry. I did take the carb apart and cleaned the jets but that seems not to of helped. maybe i didnt do a good job at cleaning it? anyways what do you think is the problem. any help would be great

Answer
Aaron, no fuel on the plugs can be due to no fuel in the bowl, no fuel being drawn into the motor, a big air leak at the crankshaft seal or at inlet manifold or an idle jet plugged up.

There should be a choke mechanism on the carb, if it is the original unit. Check to see that it is functioning properly and all feed passages are clean.
