Motorcycle Repair: front brakes, honda vt500c, mity vac

thanks for taking your time we have 85 honda vt500c took off the front master cylinder and put new glass in the viewr, put it back on and put in brake fluid and the brakes wont pump up at all with  the cap on or off,, no air bubbles come out when i pump it any thoughts thanks  tim

Tim, I use a mity-vac pump that can be purchased at any automotive parts store for around 29.00. It attatches to the bleeder screw on the brakes. You may have to remove it and put on thread tape and put it back in. Put the vac hose on the bleeder and crack it open. Squeeze the handle and draw a vaccum and it will pull the fluid down and the air out. Make sure the master cylinder stays full of fluid this will keep the air from re-entering the system. Keep the vac it will come in handy for other projects.
