Motorcycle Repair: Honda Foreman ATV, honda foreman, electric shift

I have a 1998 Honda Foreman ATV 450 ES, electric shift. The starter is not engaging and the solenoid keeps clicking. I have had the battery checked and replaced the solenoid. Any other suggestions before changing out the starter?

Mark. take the battery cable off the starter and use a test light on the cable end and ground the other end of the light. Now turn on ignition and hit the starter button if the light goes on there is power to the starter. Reattatch the cable and try again if it does'nt do anything then its time for a new starter. Try an aftermarket mitsuba starter its a little cheaper than the original equipment. The part # for the oem unit is 31200-HM7-003 and can be about $210.00.
