Motorcycle Repair: main fuse holder, amp fuse, fuse holder

Question
how do i reconnect the main fuse holder on a 1980 susuki gs450l? the previous owner took it off and the repair manual does not show where it goes just a picture of it.

Hi Michelle,

The main fuse should be located behind
the left side cover on the bike.
It is clipped into a holder on the
left side of the regulator unit.

The main fuse connects to the positive battery
power and the wires related to it should be red.

There should be some color coded wires to plug it
into the bike's wiring harness to provide
power to the ignition switch. These wires
are usually red also.

As long as you have a fuse inserted in the
smaller red wire from the battery positive you
should be safe. I think the original is
about a 15 amp fuse.
