Motorcycle Repair: carb - 1982 yamaha XJ 750 Seca, yamaha xj 750, pilot jet

Question
QUESTION: I took the carbs off my 750 seca to rebuild them and got in too big a hurry.  I took the jet screws out without even thinking and when I went to put it back together noticed there was 2 different sizes.  How do I know which ones go where?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

ANSWER: Vaughn, the main jet is always larger like a #120 and the pilot jet is around a size #40 if this helps.

QUESTION: Thank you for the help but that part I understand, the smaller is actually #80 and the larger is #225.  My question is which one goes where?  They are both the same thread count and some forums say different things.  Does the main jet go closer to the the airbox side or the engine side of the carb?

Answer
Ok my bad,the main jet goes onto the casting that hangs down the most also the brass emulsion tube is held in place with it. Also for information the slide needle hangs down into the emulsion tube from the top of the carb. Locate this casting and it will get you there. There is usually a brass washer to help hold the emulsion tube in place.
