Answer
Bryon, here is a reference to a Honda recall, which is written for the later models, but I think applies to earlier ones, because this is not an isolated problem on Honda Fours.

1977-1978 HONDA CB750 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:FUSES AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS Recall
1977-1978 HONDA CB750   ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:FUSES AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS
Units affected: 15529   AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.
Report Date: 1979-12-27
Summary: THE FUSE HOLDER CONTACT SPRING ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES IS DEFECTIVE IN THAT IT CAN CAUSE HIGH TEMPERATURES TO DEVELOP AT THE FUSE, AND THE FUSE MAY FAIL. FAILURE OF THE MAIN FUSE WOULD CAUSE ALL ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS TO CEASE, INCLUDING LIGHTS AND IGNITION.

The part number is the same as those for the CB400F

which also had overheated fuse issues.

From this listing, the fuse box fits LOTS of bikes and should be readily available.

I would suggest either wiring around the overheated fuse and installing an inline fuse holder from auto parts store or just replacing the whole fuse box with a new one, then carefully checking all circuits for potential shorts or overheated circuits.  Do check your stator/regulator wiring connectors coming up from the engine.
