Motorcycle Repair: Oil exiting through air cleaner, heritage softail, oil tank

Question
I own a 94 Heritage Softail. I've noticed oil splatter or mist on my oil tank, exhaust and heads on the right side of the bike. The oil appears to originate at the bottom of the air cleaner filter shroud. The bike runs great but, the oil is annoying. What can I do to stop this from happening.

Answer
Your bike vents air to the air cleaner. This air has a little mist of air with it and will build up int he air cleaner. You need to remove it every once in a while and clean it out. You can also remove the hose from the air cleaner that comes from the motor and point it downwards and then it will blow to the ground
Good luck and happy riding
