Motorcycle Repair: Honda 1969 CB 350, cycle salvage, salvage yard

Hello Gary,

I was just given this bike and I'm told the first thing it needs is new coils. I was also told they may be able to be repaired. I'm told they work but go in and out. What do you think I should do? Have them looked at by a Honda dealer? or could I replace then with modern coils?

The coils arent fixable. If they go in and out as you have stated they will be hard to diagnose. The coils are not available from Honda but a shop may have a coil tester to fire and test the output.Try a salvage yard like Steves Cycle Salvage in Tifton Ga.1-800-622-9253 and see if you can get another set if these are truly bad.
