Motorcycle Repair: 04 gsxr 600 trbl code c42, gsxr 600, watt 5

Question
I bought an 04 gsxr 600 engine from a guy who wrecked and parted it out. I have all parts to start the engine, accept the ignition switch. So I get a trbl code c42 with the normal symptoms: fuel pump not running (it test good), & no ignition spark. I have decided not to use this engine but to sell it. I would like to be able to wire the ignition wires, (which I understand there is a diode in the ignition switch to keep bike from being hotwired) I don't want to buy an ignition switch just to prove engine runs. So, how can I wire in a diode to start engine? I assume wires also need to be connected in an order for ECU to get security signal. PS. I'm an electronic tech.   Thanks

Answer
Hi Chuck,

The best I can come up with is putting a
resistor on the ECU wire O/Y (Orange with Yellow Tracer)
and connecting it to ground (B/W).
(100 Ohm Resistor, 1/2 watt, 5% tolerance: Radio Shack part 271-1108)

The point I believe is to get about 7 volts
going to the ECU wire for a signal.
I am not sure if this can be done with some
type of zener diode or other but you may know
better than I.

Good luck!
