Motorcycle Repair: 1978 honda twinstar 185T, 1978 honda twinstar, volt battery system

what is the proper polarity for this bike ? Is it negative ground ?

Hi Don,

The correct battery polarity is indeed negative ground.

However these bikes did use a 6 volt battery system.

The 12 volt system was not used until about 1981
when the CM200T model was released.

Also they have points and condensor ignition until the CM200T model
was fitted with a CDI electronic ignition.
