Motorcycle Repair: 2003 Vulcan Extream Exhaust Pipe Blueing, market pipes, chrome pipes

Question
I have a 2003 Vulcan 800B thats turns the front exhaust pipe chrome blue(More of a burn color). What might the problem be? I researched the subject some, and I found that it could be bad valves or carburetor mixtures adjustments that are too rich. I like to have some idea before I approach the service counter. The bike runs good but seem to get hot on longer rides. No idiot light come on. The fan does not seem to kick on either. How can I test these things?

Answer
Richard,The fan can be tested just by a jump wire fron the battery positive and disconnect the power wire from the temp sensor in the radiator see if the fan kicks on,the bike does not have to be turned on.The carbs could be off or jetted wrong. Are the pipes after market or Kawasaki pipes. Heres a good one, if this is a California model the carb jetting is richer in the front carb to allow for all the emission hoses and EGR valves. And you are also correct the valves could be too tight allowing the burning air/fuel mix in the cylinder to escape and finish burning in the exhaust pipe. Also as I stated earlier some afet market pipes anr single wall chrome pipes and blue very quickly because the ane a thin material and dont have heat shields.
