Motorcycle Repair: bogging down, ohmeter, load tester

i was wondering if you could help me with a question on a 1983 suzukigs750t.i recently had it in the shop and the guy said it needed coils .i was wondering if bad coils would cause it to bog down when riding it

Well if the technician is right yes the bad coils would make it run poorly. However did he test the coils with a actual coil load tester making the fire and heating them up to full operating temp or did he just test with an ohmeter. The coils can go bad but its rare, find out because you dont want to buy electrical parts because you cannot return them especially if you dont need them.
