Motorcycle Repair: 94 heritage softail, heritage softail, oil levels

how do I check the oil levels of the primary and the tranny.I have oil on the floor and I dont think its engine oil.the primary case always has oil on it at the bottom reari2d47

Answer
To check the primary the bike has to be sitting upright. It holds 1 1/2 quart. There is no dipstick for it. To check the oil int he tranny remove the dipstick on the right side of the tranny. You check it with the bike sitting upright.
