Motorcycle Repair: Brake light 2002 Yamaha vstar 650, yamaha vstar 650, yamaha v star

The brake light on my 2002 Yamaha V-Star Custom 650 is not working, and I have changed the bulb, I am looking for the the fuse box so I can check that out. Also, what else could cause that issue?

Hi Brett,

The power comes from the fuse to a brown wire
that will go to your brake light switches.

From the switches the power goes to the brake light
on a yellow wire.

So it might be the fuse or a break in
in the yellow wire if neither brake switch works
or it could be the black ground wire to the
brake light itself.

Check if you have power to the brake switches
on the brown and then to the brake light yellow
If so then check the ground wire for a break.
Could also be a faulty bulb socket.
