Motorcycle Repair: 81 750 virago, brake switch, foot brake

Question
i have constant power to my tail light so it always looks like i am braking. i have no power to my front brake switch or to my foot brake switch. do you know if there is something i should try or if this is a common problem?.

You should have power to the tail light when the bike is on. The brake switches will have power on one side of the switch and continue to the tail light when activated. Its possible that a fuse is out for the brake circuit and the tail light bulb may be in wrong or the wrong bulb.
