Motorcycle Repair: cl77 gas lines, carburetor body, interference issues

Question
Bill,
We meet several years ago but now I'm in Dana Point restoring a 1968 CL77. My problem is the crossover gas line on my gas tank.
The line coming out of the petcock runs right into the right side throttle cable. There doesn't appear anyway for this line to reach over to the other side of the tank without fouling the throttle cable. This bike ran before I disassembled it for powercoating, painting, etc. so I must be missing something. Can you advise?

Answer
Roger, I guess I would have to see photos of the interference issues, as I haven't heard of this problem, previously.

The throttle cable should wrap around the steering head on the left side and then run down the backbone of the frame before it splits into each carburetor.

Make sure that each carburetor top is placed properly. If you look at how they are oriented on the carburetor body, the throttle cable adjuster is either outboard or inboard of centerline of the carburetor body. You want the carburetor tops to both be oriented inboard to help clear the fuel tank edges. Plus the carburetor slides must be in their correct L&R locations, with the cutaways facing the air filters. So L&R carburetor slides AND tops must be in their correct locations.
