Motorcycle Repair: moving the bike backwards, wheel bearings, brake caliper

Question
if the piston on the brake caliper was out, rubbing on the disc would it cause the bike  to hesitate in moving backwards in neutral prior to being put in gear to move forward?  The bike moves forward just fine , but is stiff when trying to roll backwards. fluids are all good.

Answer
I would check the caliper alignment and also the wheel bearings, perhaps the chain.  It is worth putting the bike on the stand and seeing how the wheels move, usually the pistons do not move freely enough in the calipers and will cause drag.  A simple clean of the pistons and the associated seals is normally enough to free things up properly.  Good luck,  Jan
