Motorcycle Repair: V-star 1100 dropping #1 cylinder under load, yamaha v star 1100 custom, yamaha v star 1100

Question
I own a 2001 yamaha v-star 1100 custom, while riding if you put the motor into a load say wisting the trottle more than 1/16th - 1/8th turn past idle the forward cylinder drops out. when you return the trottle to below 1/8th of a turn the forward cylinder kicks back in. This problem started during a ride a few days ago and does not seem related to enging temp.

I have pulled and replaced both of my spark plugs which did not solve my problem.

Answer
Check some things out.It sounds as is you have a plugged main jat in the carb. The rule of thumb is that the slow or idle jet works at idle the 1/4 throttle. The slide and needle work as a transition from that jet to the main jet.The slide in the carb could have a pinhole on the rubber diaphram or its sticking not letting fuel in untill the main jet can take over. The fuel we now get has to much alcohol in it and is hard on carb parts. Check the mixture screws and have the carbs sycronized to see if they draft properly.
