Motorcycle Repair: oil drain plug, oil drain plug, heritage softtail

trying to change oil in a 2003 heritage softtail 100th anv. the plug along frame on right side is guarter inch allen. is this the drain plug! they say it is a hose to disconcert or a 5/8 plug, i see niether. also do you really need to start motor before draning oil, having problem starting

you should start the motor and let it warm up before draining the oil. Get all the junk suspended in the oil so it will drain.
the plug should be in the right side, under the frame. A 5/8 socket fits it. It will have a hole in the center for a allen wrench.
