Motorcycle Repair: virago regulator, good luck, models

Hello. I have taken my regulator off my virago 535xv 1994 model. The part is  SH569A-12. I've found a replacement showing that number but it appears to be for a 1998 - 99 model. I've also found 718765 parts which appear to fit 1988 - 01 models. Just not sure what to do as they're all about the same price. Thankyou. Helen.

Establish that your bike is stock and has the original engine in it (yes they get swapped sometimes) then get the right part for the bike.  You can verify the engine number to check if it is correct.  The dealer will be able to tell you which is the correct replacement part.  Good luck,  Jan
