Motorcycle Repair: Wont Start, honda magna, module 8

Question
I have a 87 Honda Magna and it will not start, I have checked plugs, coils, and it will not get a spark. I do not want to spend 400.00 dollars for a Ignition module if it might be something else I should be checking. Is there some thing else I should be checking, or do I need to purchase the module.

Answer
8's don't cut it.  Please do not ask me anymore questions.  Read my profile next time.

First make sure that the ignition module is getting power, because it is more common for ignition switches and kill switches to go bad.  Many ignition modules have been replaced unnecessarily...  Check that the power is getting to the right place, and that it is getting a trigger pulse.  If so, then yes replace the ignition module, but I think you'll find a bad connection in the kill switch or the ignition switch...  Good luck,  Jan
