Motorcycle Repair: 1986 Honda CBX 750 FE, honda cbx 750, crank case breather

Question
Bill
I purchased the bike incomplete to refurbish as a winter project. I replaced the cylinder head & cover. Now that I have come to put the final parts on, I have noticed the crank case breather housing is bolted to the frame under the fuel tank & it has 3 outlets. One of the outlet must have gone to the missing cylinder head cover. In one of your answers you quoted pre 1975 had a breather hose through the cylinder head. Do think I need to find a cylinder head cover with a breather hose or should It be OK if I have fitted a new cylinder head.

Answer
Barry... I don't know much about these engines, as they are too new for my general knowledge.

Found some related parts illustrations here: http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cbx750p-1984-general-export-kphplb_model18918/partsli...

Breather parts shown here: http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cbx750p-1984-general-export-kphplb_model18918/partsli...

http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cbx750p-1984-general-export-kphplb_model18918/partsli... shows the nipple for the breather tube. Motor has to breathe out somewhere, so if that is the only source then you will need to replace the cover, especially if there are no other provisions for crankcase fumes to exit.
