Motorcycle Repair: JR50 RINGS, suzuki jr50, stroke honda

ONE OF THE RINGS FOR A SUZUKI JR50 HAS A GREEN STRIPE ON IT. DOES IT GO ON TOP OR BOTTOM ?

Lenny, this Suzuki question is out of my area of expertise. My guess is that a specially marked ring would go on top. Take a close look at the ends of the rings and be sure that they fit around the piston locating pins correctly. The gaps need to be lined up with the pins, when putting the cylinder back down. For most 2 stroke rings, there isn't a top/bottom ring, unless the ring lands are different width.

Best bet is to call a Suzuki dealer service department and ask them to check the shop manual for the correct answer.

Sorry, I can't give you an informed answer on that question. I am a 4 stroke Honda guy....
