Motorcycle Repair: 1998 goldwing, starter relay, loose connections

Question
won,t start in gear with clutch pulled ,in starts fine in neutral

Answer
Hello,

Check the clutch switch on the left handlebar lever
and the side stand switch.

These two switches create a ground circuit that
allows the reverse and starter relay "A" to operate.

When you pull in the clutch with the side stand up
you should have continuity on the green/red
clutch switch wire to ground through the side stand switch.
If not, then either one of the switches mentioned
could be faulty. It could also be the wiring
involved or loose connections, bad ground.

Luck!
