Motorcycle Repair: fairing removal 02 flhtc, gas tank, senser

Hey Mike  I asked you this question yesterday, don't know if you answer or not i could'nt add you to my safe list but i got it now. But my question is if i remove the whole fairing and disconnect everything in it will my bike start and run normally?
I am converting it to a roadking front end, just hate the fairing i bought it becuase it had 8400 miles and was well taken care of.

Also for now i want to keep the original gas tank? any problems with that?
And i will need a speedo anything aftermarket that would plug into the original wiring?

No, your bike will not run with everything unplugged. You can keep the orgional gas tank if you wish. You would have to go with a handlebar speedo, since you want to keep the orgional tank. You would probably have to change out the speedo senser for the new speedo.
