Motorcycle Repair: 49FL, battery eliminator, polding

Hi Mike:
The latest bike I'm working on in the shop is a 49 FL bottom end with shovelhead top end on it. We want to put a Joe Hunt Mag on it to replace the distributor, and then we are hoping to run the generator without a battery. I don't know a lot about this stuff, but will a battery eliminator and the stock regulator work?
The electrics on the bike will be horn, headlight, tailight, brake light and signals, in order to comply with traffic laws.
Also, will a hunt magneto fit on a generator case without having to modify too much?

You can add the mag without a problem and you can run the generator without a battery. Just remember, a generator relies on RPMs to keept he voltage up. With the lights on and having turn signals on your generator will not put out enough voltage and the lights will really dim.
