Motorcycle Repair: 02 flhtc fairing removal, online catalogs, speedo

Question
If i remove the fairing on my 02 flhtc and disconnect everything thats in the fairing will my bike still start and run normally.
I am converting it to a road king look i just hate the fairing. Also any idea's on a speedo that i can use?

Your taking on a really big job. If you remove the fairing and disconnect the wiring the bike wsill not run. You would have to do alot of splicing of wires together. If you still want to do it you need to get a wiring diagram for your bike so you have somthing to follow. Check some of the online catalogs for handlebar mounted speedos
