Question
Hi David i am new to the site ,I have a 1982 suzuki gs1100 the last owner opened it up himself and done a bad job it smokes and even you see its leaking from front on engine .
I would love to open it up I am above the average handy man specially mechanical stuff should i do complete over haul or just the top ?and roughly how much is my cost ?and no idea where to get parts .please help me out .Thanks

Answer
Hey Amir,With the info I have it seems like just the top end needs rebuilding.A Suzuki dealership is the most common way to get parts or you can use world of powersports.com.Depending if you have to buy pistons and get cylinders bored or just rings. The cost could be from a few hundred dollars to $1500,but if your going that far it isn't to much more to check the bottom end.It should be done by a confident mechanic.I believe you can tackle this just take your time and purchase a service manual before you start. It will be your best tool(trust me on this one).Good Luck,David
