2003 honda 750 shadow spirit wont stay running. choke is open it kicks over but the minute you give it some gas it dies...changed out the filter and fuel in tank still no luck. Bike has been sitting for months in shed

Dennis. the big clue for me was "sitting for months in shed".

That almost always means carb cleanout time, as today's fuels evaporate, separate and plug up the idle and often the main jets. The bike starts on the choke because it is a separate fuel/air circuit.
