Motorcycle Repair: suzuki 00 vs800 intruder electrical, quality grease, vs800

Question
"ride the bike everyday.  this am went to start it for work, turned the key, heard a click, then no lights/power at all. checked the fuses, replaced the main, got lights but when i tried to crank it, lost all power again.  fuses still good.  hooked the charger up, battery registered well, turned the key and had light. went to crank and only a rattling/clicking sound like the starter not engaging.  unhooked charger and no power when key is on still.
can you maybe give me an idea where to start?  fuses good, battery good - conundrum.
tks
jan"

Answer
Hi,  First take both connections off the battery terminals, first the negative, then the positive.  Clean the terminals, and put a good quality grease or vaseline on the terminals.  re-attach, negative last.  Unless your battery is bad, this should fix the problem.  Have your battery current-draw tested, it's the current you need to start the bike, voltage will give you lights...
