Motorcycle Repair: S&S Carburetors E or G ?, bike mike, stock motor

Hi Mike

I own a 1985 H-D 1340cc Classic.
I want and need to change my old carburetor to an S&S carb.

Question(s) Please.

1. What's the difference between the "E" and "G" Carbs ?
2. Which carb. would you recomemd for my bike Mike
  the "E" or "G" and why ?

First Mike is your motor stock or close to it? If its stock or close to it an S & S "E" would work great for you, if your motor is not stock and I'm talken at least stroked then a S & S "G" would be your best bet. The E model has a smaller throat diameter then the G model.. ie ; the G is bigger than the E and would probably flood out a nearly stock motor even with the smallest jets.
