Motorcycle Repair: Stator, clutch basket, precious possession

Question
Go Buckeye's!!  Yeah, I am from Ohio, but now dwell in
Texas.  One extreme to the next!! Anyways, I have a 2002
FXDWG and I do believe I have a bad stator.  So, I purchased
one, and a new gasket, NOW, how do I change it?  It says
NOTHING in my owner's manual about this! I have so far
changed anything that's needed it, but am I headed for
disaster? or is this something that "should be" only changed
by a HD Mechanic?  By the way, just stumbled upon this site,
and I want to Thank you!!  As a woman rider and keeper of my
most precious possession, Thank you for helping me do it
myself!  Who said women can't get greased up and fix a
Harley?  Ha!

Answer
In order to change the stator you have to remove the primary cover, clutch basket, motor sprocket, chain and chain adjuster. You are going to need an impact wrench to get the motor sprocket nut off. Once you have all that done you have to remove the rotor from the around the stator and then the stator
Good luck and happy riding
