Motorcycle Repair: new exhaust and fuel management, fuel manager, power commander

Question
Mike - you've helped in the past with my old shovel.  I just bought V&H Big Shots Staggered for my new 2010 FatBoy, and want the honest answer on the need for a Fuel Pak, Power Commander, etc.  I haven't installed them yet, haven't changed anything else, have been told that either pipes OR air intake can be changed without remap or fuel manager.  Your take?

Answer
Here is my opinion. When your bike comes from the factory it is running a little lean to pass EPA. Any changes you make, like high flow air filter, exhaust, ECT makes the bike run even leaner. To many changes and you really run lean. Lean means a little loss of power and hotter running motor. If it were me I would makes the changes required to make the bike run correctly.
I dont use either the Fuel Pak or the Power Commander. I use a program and make changes to the ECM that in in the bike. So what I am doing it reprograming the bike
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
